This week I’m going to tell you about three things that have been rocking my world lately.

This shirt from Target. I LOVE a striped shirt and have been wearing them for years. A few months ago I picked up this top to replace my latest careworn blue and white striped version at Target and I’ve been wearing it once or twice a week ever since. I wear it to work with trousers and heels and I wear it on the weekend with jeans or joggers. It’s a great, inexpensive way to update my spring wardrobe.

Yotam Ottolenghi’s tahini and halva brownies. These are amazing. Even if you made the brownie recipe and omitted the tahini (soybean paste, one of the main ingredients in hummus) and halva (Middle Eastern candy made of sesame flour and honey), it would be an incredible recipe. However, don’t leave those things out. You can buy them both at Meijer (or probably your closest grocery store) and it gives an incredible richness and savory note to the brownies. I’m planning to make these again this week for book club but I bought an extra package of halva so I can make two pans.

Although my fitness routine revolves around HIIT classes at FLEXcity Fitness in downtown Lansing, last week my husband was out of town and I couldn’t leave the house for my 6am workouts. At the encouragement of a few friends, I downloaded the Peloton app and used it for seven classes last week. No, we don’t have a Peloton bike, but we have a treadmill, and this app has TONS of guided treadmill runs to choose from. I also used it for upper body toning and strength, stretching, and restorative yoga. I’m planning to do another 45 minute treadmill class tonight and am so excited to take this on the road with me the next time that I travel for work. The music is great and it truly does make a big difference in my motivation when there is an instructor telling me what to do. This app was invaluable when I was in a pinch and couldn’t get to the gym.
